Justice League: The SNYDER CUT is Being Released Anonymous 05/21/2020 (Thu) 00:33:31 No. 1312
Now everyone can enjoy this train wreck in its original form. https://archive.is/y885Z
Edited last time by Frank on 03/19/2021 (Fri) 02:35:48.
>>1312 It'll still be a trainwreck. Just the way Snyder wanted instead of the way Whedon did.
>>1312 It might be weird. Which would only be a plus for me. Why not make the occasional weird take on Supes? Everything from here until the collapse in 2089 will be made by commitee anyway.
Looks fake.
Where did the Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter come from? Are they going to have Reynold reprise his role?
>>1323 >>1322 The poster is fan made but they are going to be in it. Synder already gave an outline of his entire story roadmap a couple years ago during a con. Basically j'n is that general from man of steel and the green lantern corps show up in the original jl part 1 continuing into a spinoff then return for jl part 2 and 3.
>>1319 Basically all those nu52 animated films wasthe Synder verse realized by lazy animators thinking his shit would never see the light of day.
>>1323 > Are they going to have Reynold reprise his role? Doubtful.
Looks like at&t are dead set on making the Synder cut the next Mandalorian and then some if Cavil is putting on the cape again. http://archive.md/FtdgE
>>1512 >Looks like at&t are dead set on making the Synder cut the next Mandalorian That doesn't even make any sense. What does this even mean? >>1327 Kind of yeah. But the New 52 movies at least somewhat tried to be like the comics. A little bit. More so than Snyder was with his movies.
>>1512 I liked him as a Superman, too bad the script and the direction was awful.
>>1513 They're cutting up justice league into a 5 to 6 episode miniseries like with the uncut Hateful 8 on Netflix. If it proves to be a success they might continue the orginal dceu on HBOmax.
>>1515 >They're cutting up justice league into a 5 to 6 episode miniseries Why? Isn't the new cut just 3-4 hours? >If it proves to be a success they might continue the orginal dceu on HBOmax. That'd be pretty dumb for a few reasons. Like the fact DC has it's own streaming platform. But also because the profits from theater goers are a lot better than streaming. Especially because everyone's just gonna pirate it.
>>1517 >But also because the profits from theater goers are a lot better than streaming. Especially because everyone's just gonna pirate it. It is mostly for the pandemic but some VODs are proving to be commercially succesful.
>>1518 The only one I've heard being a big success was Trolls 2. Scoob I've only heard negative press. Nothing about it's earnings.
>>1519 Well theres a lot of small kids who are out of school and stuck at home. A vod rental is about 20 bucks per family (one account on a living room tv) not person and scoob so happens to be one of the few new kids films out there now.
>>1520 Okay but again I've heard NOTHING about Scoob being successful. Only Trolls 2.
>>1312 This is ridiculous They could build a hospital or some shit with the money they're wasting on remaking this trash.
>>1522 I honestly cant wait for the redlettermedia review
>>1521 Well they dont have to tell anyone because of how vod works. They can wait literally up to the end of the year before they start mentioning how financially successful the film was.
>>1521 I haven't watch Trolls 2 but Scoob was shit, so maybe it is that.
>>1525 >>1524 Exactly. Without proof of it's success, it shows VoD isn't going to replace movie theaters any time soon.
>>1526 If the film is able to be profitable at a consistent price for a longer duration than a normal theater run, then you can't use the same metrics to determine if it was a success or not.
>>1526 >Without proof of it's success, it shows VoD isn't going to replace movie theaters any time soon. Not necessarily. Vod cuts out the middleman and lets Universal, etc. keep most of the profit. With the exclusivity of theaters no longer being a thing, anything they make beyond 90 days is just more money in their pockets. When you consider how much nicer it is to watch movies from home and how many people have home theater set-ups, it makes sense for companies like universal to go the vod route. It lets them keep more of money that is being made, and reduces their overhead. Piracy will always be a thing, but it won't matter as much if they're keeping more of the money.
>>1526 Trust me parents will pay 20 bucks just to get their kids to shut up for 2 hours.
>>1523 Why would you want to watch anything from RedditLetterMedia?
>>1587 I believe you. Bad parents.
>>1522 But they're not remaking it. Just recutting it and finishing a few unfinished elements. But yes, it will probably be bad anyway. I mean best case scenario, it's only as bad as Batman v Superman, instead of as bad as Justice League. >>1589 Because he's a "troll." RLM said anyone who criticizes feminist films are trolls, yet they criticized films like Ghostbusters and such. So their fans must all be trolls.
I‘m honestly looking forward to it. I thought the Whedon cut was okay for what it was, and I‘m curious to see a different take on the same material. That and I‘m a fan of Harry Lennix and would like to see him as the Martian Manhunter. Taking the DCEU to VOD may be a good move as well, with a bit of luck they might turn it around and make the whole thing watchable.
>>1600 The DCEU is a mess with or without the Snyder cut. Superman is a somber emotionally void poorly written Christ allegory. Batman is a bitter killer that's also a hypocrite for not killing his villains. Wonder Woman is a twig played by a jew who can barely speak english. Barry Allen is played by an absolute faggot that looks NOTHING like Barry Allen does. Aquaman is just Jason Mamoa.
>>1601 Aquaman and Shazam have been the best things about the DCEU, and take a moment to realize just how sad that is. A movie about a guy who talks to fish and a kid who turns into discount Supes are BEST FILMS that DC has to offer.
>>1602 And they're both still just okay. They gotta cut their losses & admit this experiment is a failure. The only good thing we got from DC recently was Joker. Which somehow was also incredibly different from the comics but was still great. Better than the entire DCEU catalog. Pure lightning in the bottle that won't be replicated again considering everything about The Batman.
>>1603 If WB cut their losses years ago, enough time might have passed by now to give it a more earnest effort. But they haven't learned a damn thing, so it won't matter. I actually liked Man of Steel a lot. But evidently, the stuff I liked was all put there by accident. For years after BVS I kept thinking of ways they could have fixed that movie, and ways they could still make Justice League good. But obviously, good was not what they were going for. For example, remove Lex Luthor from BVS. Rename and recostume the Bruce Wayne character to be called Lex Luthor instead. Because Batman acts like a good version of Luthor in that movie, but a terrible version of Batman. And Luthor is just an annoying retard who isn't even very important. Obviously remove all the Justice League stuff, too. They should have obviously done their solo movies before just having them show up. But WB was too stupid and greedy to do that. Also they all sucked anyway. Especially Flash. But okay, BVS is out and it sucks, but we're locked into making a JL movie now. Superman is dead, so that's already a bad start. Have the movie begin with Superman miraculously and mysteriously just showing up again, but it turns out he's actually Cyborg Superman made by Darkseid, because Mongul is pretty much Darkseid but less cool anyway, and only a goddamn retard would use Steppenwolf in a movie. Batman suspects something is up and gets the Justice League together and then the real Superman shows up to help save the day at the end. At least this way Superman is in most of the movie and there would be an actual good bad guy. Then Justice League came out and I just gave up. They should have used the CW Crisis on Infinite Earths, as awful as that was, to reboot the DCEU. Normalfags wouldn't care anyway, and people who actually like good movies wouldn't care, but it would generate interest from casuals who pretend to know what they're talking about, and would otherwise pretend to be mad if they just plain rebooted it. And like after the actual COIE, it wouldn't have to be a full reboot. They could keep elements that actually worked.
>>1602 Aquaman worked because it was made by a guy who knows what entertainment is. He made garbage like Fast & Furious popular after all. Snyder has no fucking idea what's entertainment. 300 might be his only good movie. I also like Watchmen, but there his misunderstanding how comic movies should be already show.
>>1589 >not liking the only good thing on the internet Why are you here then?
The SNEED cut?
>>1754 300 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Snyder seems to think that putting everything in slow mo makes up for having awful choreography and no story. There's nothing worth watching in that movie. Watchmen was the same except he had a good story due to autistically following the book, but then he still managed to show that he's a retard who didn't understand anything with his direction of the action scenes. I actually liked Man of Steel, but after BVS, I realized that he only made that good by accident.
>>1766 >300 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen Absolute shit taste 300 was great movie and a decent adaptation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Prc1UfuokY
>>1767 Memes alone cannot save a movie. Or at least not one this boring and stupid. I love a good bad movie. But Zack Snyder isn't good enough for that, either.
>>1767 Never read the 300 graphic novel so I can't attest to his adaptation abilities. However, the movie is very hard to take seriously. I saw the sequel & it's a little better but still really stupid. Zack at least can direct good action scenes. Mostly.
>>1767 I agree. 300 was a good war story trying to achieve mythical proportions. I think they abused of the CGI but they didn't have other options when they picked that image style.
>>1774 At least they went all in (mostly greenscreen and filters) and not made some horrific liveaction cgi hybrid.
>>1312 >It’s unclear why Zack Snyder selected Dick Grayson to be the one to die rather than Jason Todd, and since he only described the addressing of Robin in The Snyder Cut as a “hint,” who knows if he’ll actually be identified by Batman or one of the other characters. They really are killing Dick. https://archive.is/strPU
>>1994 >be zack snyder >get to make your own new live action batman >draw inspiration from the work of frank miller & a story like death in the family >completely misunderstand both stories >make batman a killer who won't kill any named villains or even the people who killed his robin >replace jason todd with dick grayson >give him a halberd staff as a weapon that's obviously made to kill It's like Zack just intentionally misunderstands the stories he directly rips off. If Zack drew more inspiration from the original Bat-man then there'd be grounds for making him a killer. But basing him off a version that never killed even Joker until the sequel book then making him a relentless killer spits in the faces of fans. It again makes him a hypocrite as well. If Bruce Wayne is supposed to care about human life enough to seek revenge on Superman for his destruction then he shouldn't be killing random goons or villains at all.
Guess who's back.
>>2100 But we're still stuck with Ezra Miller as Flash & a DC live action universe completely unsalvageable. They're better off cutting their losses & acting like it doesn't exist. Go back to purely stand alone features like Joker. At least then if a movie is bad it won't ruin any future movies.
>>2102 I dont think Ezra has much time left with his choking incident months back, I wouldnt be surprised if the CW guy gets his role later down the line. But its looking like ATT wants to do both ideas, banking on the DCEU becoming the DCM (for multiverse). They did it already on TV and apparently it turned out fine. Also guess who's coming back too.
>>2186 I dunno. You don't hear many people talking about the choking situation when the Snyder Cut comes up or when Keaton's return was announced. >CW >replacing Ezra with Grant >making a multiverse out of the movies Grant's problem is he doesn't look like Barry Allen either & the show's writing is abysmal. The multiverse crossover with Crisis on Infinite Earths wasn't any good either. The CW DC shows are just a mixed bag of garbage. >Ryan coming back as Green Lantern I REALLY doubt that one.
>>2187 Stuff like the choking incident tends to linger before becoming relevant again. All CW shows are bad but people (at least the people that watches CW crap) like him. There really hasn't been an accurate portrayal of Barry really anywhere outside an animated film or two. Most of the time they just write Wally, but compared to Ezra he'd be a god send, I cant stand Ezra's acting while Grant is much more tolerable and likable. And if they do go with Grant they can always change the character behavior a bit because multiverse. >I REALLY doubt that one. Originally they wanted Tom Cruise but Ryan shilled hard for the cut, from all the rumors its probably just a cameo.
>>2189 You're right. If Grant just had a better script he'd at least be a much better Barry or Wally than Ezra ever could. And hey is the DCEU wants to mingle with the equally bad CW shit then whatever. The live action DC stuff hasn't ever been that good. >Tom Cruise That's a dumb idea. The man's way too old & needs CGI just to hide his old man body under digital abs.
>>2189 >Originally they wanted Tom Cruise but Ryan shilled hard for the cut, from all the rumors its probably just a cameo. That means a lot coming from the guy who says that the film made him "unhirable": http://archive.vn/jyDTx <And went on to literally killed himself on-screen for doing the film. And, actually dissuaded people away from watching the film: http://archive.vn/gy8E5
>>2191 With Deadpool dead in the water, he's gotta find work somehow.
>>2187 Its looking like he's confirmed for the part. https://archive.is/E089c
>>2206 I bet it'll be a cameo but not as Hal Jordon.
>>2210 They had a green lantern in the theatrical cut they'll have another for the Snyder cut.
>>2212 Yeah. Obviously.
Somehow they made it look even worse.
>>3648 Wow it's almost like it's been shown multiple times that Snyder is a terrible director, writer, & designer.
>>1327 The art direction on these movies is shit. There's something about these specific character designs that look terrible. Maybe it's because they all have the same distance between their eyes and the same nose length?
>>3649 Snyder is good for action heavy, story light movies. It's why he got so much praise for 300, unfortunately, some suit decided that Snyder was good at doing comic book movies in general, instead of just gritty action comics. It's why he got the benefit of a doubt when Watchmen flopped. I think whoever thought he'd be a good director for a Superman movie should be horse whipped. He doesn't work well with mainstream comics, one need only look at his handling of Batman and Superman to see that. One character who has a code against killing Inb4, but this one strip from 1932 where Batman kills someone proves all of the characterization from the last eighty seven year wrong! gets turning into the fucking Punisher, and the other character who's whole gimmick was at once being Superhuman and human at the same time, a balance and dichotomy, gets turned into a messiah figure not that Superman wasn't already somewhat a fit for the abrahamic messianic archtype, but then again he was a wish fulfillment character for two jewish guys
Why do they always have to make J'onn so ugly, its one thing having an alien form but his human form shouldn't be this ugly.
They're really banking hard on streaming, even if the Synder-verse is awful they wont let it die because its the only exclusive they have on HBO Max.
>>7370 At least I don't have to pay for watching this shit. Get HBO Max for free as part of my phone contract.
>>7373 Anon nothing is ever truly free but its a good deal regardless.
>>1994 >They really are killing Dick. They're always killing Dick. In Injustice he falls and breaks his neck on a rock. >>2187 I agree that Grant doesn't look like Barry, but he's still better than Ezra and more recognizable. >>7278 He looks like Squidward in that photo.
>>7383 Yeah but they're giving him the Jason treatment instead.
>>7384 >Jason treatment They did something similar in Apokolips War, where Damien revives him in the lazareth pit after he gets stabbed by a parademon. >>7370 >They're really banking hard on streaming It cuts out the middleman, and lets the studios keep more of the profit.
>>7389 >similar in Apokolips War The whole animated nu 52 films basically adapted Synder's work with some minor changes.
>>7391 That would explain a lot. I actually enjoyed the nu52 films that I've watched so far. They weren't perfect, but they were entertaining. Apokolips War, in particular, felt like an old snuff film.
>>7395 Eh, most were subpar compared to what came before. Things haven't been the same since Mcduffie passed away.
>>7395 >like an old snuff film I really found it odd how after that opening they decided to take the MCU everyone's quipping with a devil may care attitude.
>>7400 I guess they didnt want to make the same mistake that synder made by having everyone being a different flavor of batman.
>>7407 >everyone being a different flavor of batman
>>3710 Nailed it, it's such a shame he's stuck making capeshit. I'd like to see something like Judge Dredd made by him.
>>7407 Dark Knights: Metal is the only DC property Snyder could possibly actually fit properly with.
>>7458 He could've done a decent DKR adaption.
Looks like they're going all in with The Flash being a multi-verse movie. It wouldnt surprise me if they resurrect Christopher Reeve from the grave. https://archive.is/DILnu
>>7712 They resurrected Marlon Brando for Superman Returns. And didn't they use Brandon Routh as Superman in the CW version of Crisis on Infinite Earths? Technically that is the Christopher Reeve Superman.
>>7776 Well the actor is technically playing The Atom now.
>>7777 What a waste of a GET.
>>7777 Technically they could get him again for The Flash. Of course that might just lead to more people pointing out how the TV Flash is way better than the movie Flash, even though the Flash TV show sucks hard now too.
>>7782 Was tv Flash ever good?
>>7794 I really liked Season 2. Season 3 was okay but pretty forgettable. I didn't hate Season 4, but I stopped watching because Arrow and Supergirl were always terrible, and Legends of Tomorrow then became absolutely horrible as well, so I just gave up on the whole universe.
>>7796 >became absolutely horrible Sounds like something profoundly changed all at the same time.
>>7794 TV Flash is very annoying. On top of the obvious issues of blacking the West family, Barry being a scrawny brunette twink, & the costume being a shitty leather rubber jumpsuits. You got the fact that it's so fucking repetitive. Every episode is just this. >I can't do this. I'm not fast enough. <Yes you can, Barry! Run! >[one action scene later] >I did the thing Insert relationship & interpersonal drama somewhere. That's the show's entire formula.
>>7800 >Barry being a scrawny brunette twink, & the costume being a shitty leather rubber jumpsuits. Still better than what Synder came up with.
>>7801 Yes. But being better than another shitty incompetent take doesn't remove the prior criticism.
>>7803 >tl;dr: The writers don't respect the source material, and that's gotten worse over time. They used to just be women and soyboys that wanted to write teen dramas and thought comics and sci-fi were dumb. Now they're women and soyboys that want to write outright propaganda, and think comics and sci-fi are evil. Indeed. Nowadays not even comic writers respect comics though.
Merry Go Fuck Yourself, /co/. You're getting nothing but more garbage straight from Hollywood. https://archive.md/9wO05
>>8075 Every fucking time.
>>8075 >cycoon
>>8075 why do they always do this to redheads? ist like a soem occult shit? Are redheads the true chosen/space people/ Pharaos and Hollywood is trying to erase them?
>>8078 Red hair is something seen as unique to Europeans, and unlike blonde hair, true red hair can't be recreated with dye jobs. So they seek to limit it whenever they can, and I remember articles a few years back talking about Red heads dying out sound familiar?
>>8078 There were two brothers, Jacob (black hair) and Esau (red hair). Esau was a bro who liked hunting and camping, Jacob was a mama's boy who swindled his own brother out of his inheritance. Jacob later had his name changed to "Israel" and became the father of the Jews. Esau became the father of the Amalekites who the Jews are commanded to destroy wherever they may arise.
>>8083 You skipped so much shit in the story. > Jacob was a mama's boy who swindled his own brother out of his inheritance. The dumbfuck was offered a trade, his inheritance for some soup. It was obviously a dirty trick, still, but Esau was the retard who thought trading away a blessing from God for fucking food was a good idea. >Jacob later had his name changed to "Israel" and became the father of the Jews. He didn't just change his name, God gave him a new name, which meant something like "One who struggles against God. And Jacob isn't the father of the Jews, one of his unblessed sons, Judah'', is the father of the Jews. There's more that you missed (like your uncharitable impression of Jacob, although he tricked his brother into giving up his blessing, he hardly had an easy life after that), but that's about what I can gather so far.
>>8083 >two brothers, Jacob (black hair) and Esau (red hair) Genetics do not work that way!
>>8083 >>8084 >>8085 >>8086 Shouldn't you guys be doing this in the Gamergate thread?
>>8087 Snyder loves to insert basic religious elements in his movies. This is appropriate topic for the thread.
>>8087 <"why are you replying to a post that's in response to another post in the same thread that it's in?" Why, indeed. Also, what 8092 said.
>mini-series now cut down to a really long ass movie >each production still released continue to look worse and worse.
From looking extremely try hard to partycity levels of makeup standards.
>>9486 They're learned nothing.
>>1312 Probably the only good thing about these movies haven't bothered to watch them and not planning to is Wonder Woman costume redesign; it's such an improvement over the dumb 4th of July stripper outfit, the miniskirt is vastly superior to that grandma panties with the polka dot-like pattern. >>1327 >>3650 >Maybe it's because they all have the same distance between their eyes and the same nose length? Sameface doesn't necessarily result in being unappealing, see anime/manga, or if I give an example from cartoons, see the disturbingly sameface Harley Quinn and Batgirl from TNBA shares. >There's something about these specific character designs that look terrible Indeed Most of the male' heads are too blockish and have no decrease/more oval shape as real humans have despite being drawn in more realistic style, in addition the placement of their lips is too low which makes their manly jaws useless and add more to the uncanny valley feel. Last, but not least, the character designs mostly have straight/squarish lines without enough round/curvy lines to contrast them and in general being over-detailed both in costumes and their body shape as they are closer to realistic style which results in looking distracting, stiff and overall unappealing. It looks like uglier version of the Young Justice style, which is not that great to begin with. >>7383 >be an excellent acrobat <trip and end up breaking your neck Lol, what a dumb death. Souce? >>7800 >TV Flash >tfw no DCAU Flash series
>>9500 >Wonder Woman costume redesign Anon, I'm 90% sure the movies weren't the first to give her a skirt. I believe DC rebirth is where the design is actually from, even then I vaguely recall she would briefly had skirts in either new earth era DC continuity or new 52 dc continuity.
>>9500 >Lol
>>9491 Its gonna be funny watching Zack's dumpster fire on screen.
>>9526 My bet is it's going to be the exact same movie with little changed & just more edge added. Also how is Batman blocking alien lasers with just his arm?
>>9528 Its going to be a full 4 hours, Synder's original vision called for two or three JL films so its looking like the hbo special is those two films but highly compressed.
>>9533 Essentially just the same movie but with MORE padding. Probably going to include Martian Manhunter at least.
>>9528 >Also how is Batman blocking alien lasers with just his arm? Anon, you know the obvious answer; BATWANK . One of the most unique and appealing aspects about Batman was him being just a mere human, meaning he isn't as strong as the other super heroes/Justice League members and far more vulnerable which in turn makes his struggles seem harsher and him being tougher, as well, as more relatable not in the cancerous modern way . As years passed by and DC kept relying more and more on Batfag, they turned him into obnoxious Gary Stu and ironically destroy the very aspect that made his character so likeable. This is why Terry seems more appealing as he isn't invincible as Bruce and get his ass handed to him, though a lot of it can be credit to him being inexperienced dumb hasty teenager, but still.
>>9486 Is that Leto?
>>9536 If we're talking about the Timm animated universe, Bruce got thrown around & beaten up a lot. Like all the time in his own series. In Justice League he was a lot more skillful & was constantly around much stronger league members.
>>9538 I was talking in general and referred to Snydershit as well, I guess it does get confusing when being compared to animated Batman Beyond dear god, if it will ever get live-action adaption, it most likely will be utter shit . >Justice League It was good, except that one time when he threw Kalibak which was complete BS and as for JLU, oh boy... I still have two more seasons to go through this pile of shit, KILL ME
>>9546 >dear god, if it will ever get live-action adaption, it most likely will be utter shit Don't you remember Titans and FUCK BATMAN?
Looks like they aren't going with Killface Darkseid after all.
>>9550 No he still looks stupid. Why is it they can't make comic accurate costumes but love to overdesign the fuck out of what they do make?
>>9550 Not only that, but we got Granny fucking Goodness on the right, they are giving us Granny Goodness.
>>9551 Because it will look "silly" otherwise. As far as Hollywood is concerned, the reason Nolan's Batman movies performed better than the various 90's films is solely because of "Bat-nipples".
>>9553 Yeah we wouldn't want the movie about a guy dressed a bat, a lady made from clay in a skirt, a guy who can run really fast, a guy that can do underwater things, & niggertron to look silly! These are serious versions of characters made for children to sell war bonds!
>>9546 >not liking JLU Faggot. B:TAS has the best animation, but aside from that, JLU is the best superhero show ever. Though admittedly, part of why it's so good is because of the context set by the rest of the shows in its universe. >>9554 The part that bugs me is that they also treat some parts extra goofy because they don't take them seriously, when those are precisely the parts that should be taken seriously. Like a big part of The Flash is the science fiction of it. He's a scientist, so part of his gimmick is that he (and his stories) explain how the things he does make sense from a scientific perspective, though of course with a bit of sci-fi suspension of disbelief. But in adaptations Flash is just a retard and his powers are basically magic.
>>9555 I blame the fucking CW Flash show turning Barry into an incompetent loser who constantly has to be told "YOU CAN FUCKING RUN FAST SO RUN YOU MORON" every fucking episode while he whines about wanting to fuck his adoptive sister. Justice League did a goofy Flash great because it was a laid back Wally West but he was still incredibly competent & great at being a hero. Now we have Ezra "choke her till she's bluer" Miller playing a complete fucking manchild with plastic plates tied together with wire on him.
>>9549 >Don't you remember Titans and FUCK BATMAN? Elaborate please, all I know is that Titans are not Teen 20-30 year olds Titans and I have no idea what is the other thing you mentioned. >>9555 <Faggot I'm not the one who likes shit directed by Joaquim Dos Santos. <JLU is the best superhero show ever Utter shit taste. Nothing screams more great capeshit then boring-ass conflict with governmentniggers instead of, you know, fighting cool and likeable super villains. <part of why it's so good is because of the context set by the rest of the shows in its universe More, like another reason why it's so awful, is it adds more inconsistencies and contrived bullshit to DCAU. >He's a scientist >But in adaptations Flash is just a retard and his powers are basically magic Making him both incredibly smart and powerful, would also require to do the same for his villains which in turn also requires greater and more clever writing and it's much harder to pull off. >>9556 >Justice League did a goofy Flash great because it was a laid back Wally West but he was still incredibly competent & great at being a hero He is truly best boy.
>>9588 The CW, I think it was, made a live action Titans (not teen Titans since they’re all 20-30 somethings) that had a very edgy trailer where Robin says “Fuck Batman” in a very edgy tone, it became a meme a-la “Fuck You the Demon Killer” from DMC:Devil May Cry or the “Nothing personnel, kid” catchphrase of Coldsteel the Hedgehog. They also made Starfire black because they do that to all Redheads in fiction nowadays
>>9551 >>9553 >>9554 >Why is it they can't make comic accurate costumes but love to overdesign the fuck out of what they do make? Because they want to make their own thing™ and over-detailing adds to the realism, as well being a lazy way to make things look edgy and supposedly cool. >>9550 <Darkseid is dressed in armored version of thug/rapper clothes <Granny Goodness is just an armored skinny old lady I hate 3DPD so much...
>>9589 But how is it connected to Batman Beyond?
>>9591 I think he's trying to say that if Batman Beyond was done in live action it would be a similar edgy style shitting all over Bruce.
>>9592 >shitting all over Bruce I kinda prefer that...it's better option then the retarded plot twist that he's actually Bruce' son, still awful though, or worse they will combine them both, ARGHHHHH! I hope Batman Beyond will never get live-action adaptation, never.
>>9594 Nah fuck that. I'm fucking sick of characters getting shit on for being old & having issues.
>>9588 >is it adds more inconsistencies Like what? I watched the whole DCAU pretty recently, and don't recall anything really standing out as an inconsistency. Also, the Cadmus season is cool and does deal with plenty of cool and likable supervillains. I don't want to say much though since I don't want to risk spoiling it for you. >Making him both incredibly smart and powerful, would also require to do the same for his villains which in turn also requires greater and more clever writing and it's much harder to pull off. Well yeah, that's one big part. But there are hundreds of comic stories they could adapt more faithfully than they do. But they don't. The people making these adaptations clearly do not like or even respect the source material, even though that material was good enough to warrant an adaptation and give these people jobs. >>9594 >I kinda prefer that...it's better option then the retarded plot twist that he's actually Bruce' son These two things are unrelated. They could shit all over him either way. Also, Batman Beyond already portrays Bruce as very flawed, but in reasonably complex ways that make him an interesting character, not just a guy you're supposed to dislike and look down on, which is what a modern adaptation would do.
>>9611 <don't recall anything really standing out as an inconsistency Do you have a memory of a goldfish like DCAU hack writers? Mongul being strong as Superman, despite getting easily beaten by him in JL and also Mongul being able to beat Wonder Woman which shown to be on the same level or even stronger than Superman in JL, yet Superman is able to fight against him and retarded JLU came immediately after JL. Professor Emil Hamilton cooperating with governmentniggers, despite how he always supported Superman in STA and and even tried to defy armynigger to save him. Bonk is alive after Joker killed him in dumb ROTJ. There's also the issue with Ares as he became an independent God who just want to spread war whereas in STA he was working under Darkseid, I still rewatching STA alongside JLU (it's comforting) so there might be a good explanation, but I doubt it. I would also say that Dee Dee being able to kill a Green Lenten is complete bs, no matter how much augmentation being added to them. And this is just in season one, I anticipate more crap to follow. <Cadmus season is cool and does deal with plenty of cool and likable supervillains Faggy teen superhero team created by governmentniggers totally makes a cool supervillains. And the reason they fought against the Justice League was unbelievably stupid; they suddenly all became crazy except their faggiest member for no reason and later that faggot was able to convince the faggy team leader to somehow listen to voice of reason again although he became crazy and didn't give a shit the first time?! THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL ....the writing is awful and the animation is shoestring budget, JLU is the worst, the worst! >But there are hundreds of comic stories they could adapt more faithfully They don't want to make faithful adaptions and they're too stupid to come up with good ideas; their ego is big as their lack of talent and as you said they don't even like capeshit. >These two things are unrelated I hoped that each could cancel the other, but on second thought it's more likely to go hand in hand. >Also, Batman Beyond already portrays Bruce as very flawed, but in reasonably complex ways that make him an interesting character, not just a guy you're supposed to dislike and look down on Of course , though Terry avoiding the path to batautism wasn't handled well in the show, sadly . >which is what a modern adaptation would do There are other aspects I'm more worried about like butchering and shitting on Terry, which has been done in Epilogue and in the shitty comics constantly. Making Curare talk and giving her background story, worst girl Max being worst girl, etc . >>9595 Fair enough.
<We live in a society. He actually fucking says this, this dumpster fire keeps getting better.
It continues to get worse, each time.
>>9614 >Bonk is alive after Joker killed him in dumb ROTJ. Dude.... that whole thing was literally about time being fucked with. It was an alternate bad future.
>>9611 >and don't recall anything really standing out as an inconsistency What about the Green Lantern that appeared in Supes' show and the never was to he seen again? That's one of the few things that still bug me to this day.
>>9619 Kyle? He had a small cameo in JLU, originally they wanted Hal to be the main Green Lantern but DC wanted the show to reflect the current situation of the comics. Same with the Flash.
>>9617 Somewhat acceptable excuse, still almost everything else was exactly like how it used to be like Warhawk existing and being Hawkgirl' and GL' son , hence Bonk should've been dead too. >>9619 >>9620 The DCAU inconsistencies goes beyond JLU, there's also with ROTJ and JL as you noted and ones that are yet mentioned here. >originally they wanted Hal to be the main Green Lantern but DC wanted the show to reflect the current situation of the comics. Same with the Flash So to get best boy, Hal Jordan was needed to be sacrificed and replaced with annoying asshole John Stewart? Worth it. >>9615 Don't tempt me to watch it! >>9616 <generic video game design for your CGshit infested live-action movie/series
>>9621 >Somewhat acceptable excuse What type of retard talks like this?
>>9621 I mean they eventually brought him in.
>>9621 Nigger shut up. It's literally the explanation for how he's there. Alternate bad future from time fuckery. Resolved at the the end thus making that alternate timeline non-existent anyway. You're really trying to hate a great cartoon. I understand your bitterness over capeshit but this isn't the place to put it.
>>9616 <You're really trying to hate a great cartoon It's fucking dogshit and all you got was one counterargument. Anyway, this thread is for Snydershit as you said.
>>9625 meant for >>9624
>>9625 >>9626 I meant more your hate is misplaced in JLU. Especially when Snyder, The CW, HBO, & WB produce much much worse capeshit content right now. Even the MCU.
This tragedy might end up being a great comedy. Can't wait for the WEBRIP.
>>9628 >WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY >stinger music like somehow LetoJoker is a big reveal The faggot was just a wigger cuck gangster. How are they treating him now like he's a big deal & some deep connection with Batman that means he STILL won't kill him?!
>>9627 They're all awful, but JLU is worse because it shit on previous actually good shows and started the directing career of Joaquim Dos Santos which created even more terrible cartoons. >>9628 I can't stop laughing at that stupid line.
>>9630 You're awful, anon.
>>9615 >>9628 I miss the good old days
>>9636 Only Japan still does camp. Funnily enough not even they like the Snyderverse DC crap. They eat up the MCU, based especially on the figure sales, but DC? They don't care for the movies. So figures shelf warm for a long while.
>>9637 I remember them liking the Dark Knight trilogy.
>>9637 Does China like the Snyderverse? Seems up their alley considering how much they love Bayformers. >They eat up the MCU, based especially on the figure sales They also put more effort into the figures and give them more accessories.
>>9655 They like everyone else fell for the Heath Ledger bandwagon.
Imagine still giving your money to capeshit. This isn't bad fan art. This is a new Aquaman show coming to HBO.
>>9702 >implying anyone here pays for anything
>>9702 > This is a new Aquaman show Is this being done by the same guys who did Thundercats Roar?
>>9704 Yes. Some fucking how they still get work.
>>9702 that is not outrageous. Not outrageous at all
>>9705 >how they still get work. Blowjobs lots and lots of blowjobs.
>>9705 >>9707 They don't even need to give blowjobs, they already control HR and through it who gets hired and fired.
>>9614 >Mongul Don't recall the exact instance, but the show makes clear (maybe in episodes you haven't seen yet) that Superman is almost always holding back significantly, for the sake of not destroying too much stuff or hurting innocent bystanders. Of course he would consider even aliens who are paying to watch Warworld or whatever to be innocent bystanders. >Professor Emil Hamilton cooperating with governmentniggers, despite how he always supported Superman in STA and and even tried to defy armynigger to save him. Hamilton's change of opinion on this issue is addressed in the show. But later in your post you say you haven't finished STAS yet, so you fucked up. I can't explain it without major spoilers. If you're going to be this anal about relatively minor details, you should watch everything in order. >Bonk is alive after Joker killed him in dumb ROTJ. You mean in an alternate timeline episode? >There's also the issue with Ares as he became an independent God who just want to spread war whereas in STA he was working under Darkseid Huh? What episode did Ares work for Darkseid? You're sure you're not thinking of Steppenwolf or some other New God? I don't recall any episode where Darkseid works with any Old Gods. I also don't recall any episode of STAS that had Ares at all. I did a quick internet search and can't find anything about it. >Faggy teen superhero team created by governmentniggers totally makes a cool supervillains. Yes, they are. They're references to the Superfriends, the same way The Justice Guild is a reference to The Justice Society. >for no reason Because he was the one building more of a connection with the other team. I think you have actual autism. You're not able to grasp very simple things if they aren't 100% concrete, but get hung up on very small details, which sometimes only "don't make sense" because you're watching the shows out of order. I love getting into the details too, but if you're gonna do that, do it right. >>9619 Kyle Rayner is referenced in JL. They say he has been assigned to Oa. They do show him once or twice. >>9620 They turned Kyle in STAS into basically 100% Hal Jordan except they say he's an artist instead of a test pilot. But then it was moot anyway since they used John Stewart in Justice League, even though Kyle was still the main Lantern in the comics. Also, "Wally West" acts nothing like the comics, and the brief flashback to his origin looks a lot more like Barry's anyway. Not that he acts like Barry either. They pretty much made their own character for Flash, and the higher ups didn't care as long as they called him Wally West. Same as how they didn't really care if they changed Kyle into mostly Hal, so long as they called him Kyle. >>9621 >Somewhat acceptable excuse, still almost everything else was exactly like how it used to be like Warhawk existing and being Hawkgirl' and GL' son , hence Bonk should've been dead too. Warhawk didn't look nearly as black in Batman Beyond. I figure that fucking with the timestream is what makes him John Stewart's son. They go back to the dawn of time at the end of the episode, and reference the Hand of Creation and everything. Usually whenever that happens in DC, it changes history. In fact, one could use this to justify any inconsistencies between episodes after that and episodes before that. Of course, I don't think that was the intention. I wish the series got that autistic, but it doesn't quite do that.
Looks like they're taking direct inspiration from the dcau for J'onn.
>>9762 They're gonna make his story somehow even more bitter & dramatic than it already is.
>>7373 Costs you a sliver of your soul every time.
>>8085 Their mother was a fuckaround like Mary.
>>9769 Speaking of Mary.
>>9780 I hate everything about this. This is some Marilyn Manson shock bullshit. There would be a public outrage if this was any other religion.
>>9783 >if this was any other religion Buddhism isn't as popular as it used to be so if he was dressed up as Buddha they'd probably let it slide.
>>9785 India would probably raise a stink. Maybe China too. Wouldn't matter if Japan did because they're not people of color anymore, apparently.
>>9786 Some Indians complained about Gandhi's depiction in Clone High.
>>9787 I know. So more than likely they'd complain about Buddhism depicted in capeshit.
>>9792 >Insisting on it is actually autistic. Insisting on watching it in order is autistic, but in this case it's because you're getting hung up on minor details (yes, the things you're saying are minor) that many times aren't even accurate because you watched the shows out of order. You can watch them out of order if you aren't autistic about details like these, because they're minor details and non-autists won't notice anyway. But if you're watching them in order, you'll notice the callbacks and references. Don't make me rewatch the entire fucking thing again just to argue with you. I might have to do it.
>>9783 >Joker in ringlets and a yarmulke manipulating the financial markets for a promo shot
>>9636 I wish capeshit was still toyetic . >>9681 >Heath Ledger It was good take on the Joker, he was still fun and not tryhard edgelord like Jared Leto nor self-pitied whiny bitch like Joaquin Phoenix. Nolan' Bane was also good, despite being different from the source material, until it turned out he DID IT FOR LOVE and Talia was the real head behind the master plan. Christian Bale' Batman was terrible and so annoying with that stupid death-metal voice, the only reason he got off the hook was because everything surrounding him was so great. I think it's safe to say by judging all criteria, that Tim Burton' Batman movies were the best, although my memory regrading them isn't the sharpest. Also, all the other Batman/related live action movies just gave us memes, whereas Tim Burton' Batman gave us BTAS and 'Face To Face' by Siouxsie and the Banshees - https://yewtu.be/watch?v=zpaqBXc5MTk >>9794 <minor details (yes, the things you're saying are minor) Again, characterization, power hierarchy, etc aren't minor details unless you think basic things like not having "acting out of character" or "certain character can be stronger/weaker on random" aren't important for good and consistent writing. <Don't make me rewatch the entire fucking thing again just to argue with you Who's the autist again? I'm willing to argue with you again in a different thread and after I will finish the dreadful JLU and the terrific STAS.
>>9961 >It was good take on the Joker, he was still fun and not tryhard edgelord Bitch, Ledger Joker popularized the edgelord shit since his inception. >Bane was also good, despite being different from the source material No he really wasn't. I like Phoenix Joker but he's far from the source material. I don't like him because he's a good take on Joker. I like him because he was a well written if detached character. Bane meanwhile has nothing I like. He's just a strong henchman. No venom. No menacing voice or presence. No mask. Even "breaking" Batman has no impact when Bruce is already fucked up from getting shot once from like a 12 feet away pistol.
>>9963 <popularized the edgelord shit since his inception No, it started with Burton' Batman films. Both of which were edgy in appropriate manner. >No he really wasn't I personally thought he was cool until that devastating plot twist. <No venom. No menacing voice or presence Now that's just BS, I can accept your other arguments though, as I've already said that the reveal of his true motives ruined his character. >I don't like him because he's a good take on Joker. I like him because he was a well written if detached character The Joker movie was decent, but by capeshit standards it was crap. Nolan' bane was completely different from the source material, whereas that Joker still tried to hang on some elements from the source material but failed.
>>9966 No Burton popularized darker takes on Batman specifically. Heath Joker created a new generation of edgelords in general. Even today Joker has to be edgy. How is it BS? The whole thing with Bane is his strength & his addiction to venom. Take that away & it isn't Bane anymore. Take away his rough spanish voice & replace it with a 1930s villain talking through a cup.... how can you expect anyone to take that seriously? That's completely the opposite. Nolan didn't give a fuck about the source material at all & it shows.
>>9974 Did you forget Burton' Penguin? Not only he was edgy, arguably he's even edgier than Ledger Joker. Catwoman' costume with all the stitches was also nicely edgy. Dark and edgy are the same thing, there are varying degrees of edginess; Burton' and Nolan' Batman movies were edgy in tasteful manner, in contrast to Snydershit which is ridiculously edgy. After Burton' movies, WB tried to make Batman campy again eew with Schumacher' directing which failed and then afterwards came out Nolan' trilogy which was huge success and in general more edgy than Burton' films. So of course, their shallow marketing conclusion was that edgy=good and then we got Snydershit which was also edgier than its predecessor and thus we have reached ridiculous level of edginess. I thought you were talking about Bane in general, not specifically related to what he supposed to be in accordance to the comics. If you bothered to read my post till the end, you would've seen that I myself admitted that Nolan' bane is nothing like the source material. I do stand by my point that Nolan' Bane is intimidating despite your bias against British accent.
>>9987 Again you're missing the point. Burton popularized edgy dark Batman. Heath Ledger Joker popularized edgelords as a whole. This is the third time I've said this. Nolan Bane is the furthest thing from intimidating. He isn't even cool too look at. Both are because he lacks EVERYTHING about his comic self.
>>9991 >Burton popularized edgy dark Batman. Heath Ledger Joker popularized edgelords as a whole. < the guy who made Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas and inspired a generation of Hottopic rejects in the early 2000s. Anon you're trying way too hard at this point. >Bane is the furthest thing from intimidating >pics related
>>9995 Nigger nothing you just said refutes my point. Are you fucking retarded or just trying to argue for argument's sake?
>>9997 First off I'm not the same Anon, Second I'm just pointing out Tim's been a source of Edge Lord Emo crap for a long while before Nolan came in with Chaos Joker and Third you definitely are retarded.
>>10003 >Tim Burton <Emo Emo scene exploded in the 2000's and had shitty bands like My Chemical Romance and Panic! at the Disco and I would also argue crap like Linkin Park and Evanescence should be included as well . Their aesthetics are different from Goth; they tend to wear more casual clothes such as striped shirts, simple checkered pattern and don't forgot those ugly loafers. In addition, their make-up is more minimal/natural and often their outfits would include cutesy elements like hearts and other gay shit. Burton is Goth and arguably Siouxsie and the Banshees, though they lean more to post-punk and when their last albums came out, they went more towards pop direction.
>>1312 Apparently Snydershit will get new toys...is there actually big enough demand for this or it gonna shelfwarm hard?
>>10175 There's always a demand for superhero stuff and the toys look good. Though it'll probably do better with collectors or die-hard fans than actual kids, considering the film is aimed at a more mature audience.
>>10166 Emo,Goth, the truth is most people can't tell the difference and the two bounce off one another a lot.
>>9961 >Again, characterization, power hierarchy, etc aren't minor details unless you think basic things like not having "acting out of character" or "certain character can be stronger/weaker on random" aren't important for good and consistent writing. Your complaints are minor events (and also outright wrong in the case of Hamilton). So minor that most people would not notice. It's not like in one episode a major character acts totally different. The only reason I can't make better arguments is literally because me, despite being a major autist for this, can't remember the specific events, because they were minor. >Who's the autist again? Everyone here. But you might have legit Rain Man autism, as opposed to the internet type of autism everyone else here has.
>>10185 No, he has the internet autism, especially the parts with the mentally ill boasting and narcissism.
Some "lucky" few watched it early by mistake. A glitch in HBO Max (already fixed now) had anybody who wanted to watch Tom & Jerry got the Snyder cut instead: https://archive.md/fwuIf
>>10190 >In the end cartoons killed the comic. Anyway has anyone seen it yet? Was it alright?
>>10179 >the truth is most people are ignorant plebs who can't tell left to right FIFY By the same token, most normalfags would mistakenly think that Netflix Castlevania is an anime despite being a western production. <and the two bounce off one another a lot You uncultured swine couldn't tell the difference between the two and now you go on making baseless assumptions.
Oh god it looks even worse.
>>10201 I feel like I should see this within the context of the whole film before I pass judgement on it.
>>9615 What kind of GAMER is he?
>>10185 <It's not like in one episode a major character acts totally different <and also outright wrong in the case of Hamilton You didn't bother to answer my question whether his change in character happened in JLU or STAS, you also keep ignoring my points regarding the ruin of the power hierarchy which is important to capeshit or how the teen super hero team episode was badly written. Minor event would be Batfag throwing Kalibak away which doesn't necessarily mean he can beat him, whereas Mongul having episode dedicated showing he's by far weaker than Superman and other previous episode in JL shown that Wonder Woman and Superman are about the same level of power, if Wonder Woman isn't more so, yet Mongul beat the crap of her and was able to put a fight against Superman . You repeating the same words again and again without any good explanation behind them, is actually the sign of autism especially when continue attempting to argue while laughably admitting you can't make actual counterarguments, pathetic. <I can't make better arguments >t. I can't refute your point so I'm going to use ad hominem and my anecdotal experience Then why even bother you disingenuous idiot?! >>10189 Ad hominem isn't an argument.
>>10177 These toys aren't made for kids, but they're made by McFarlane toys so they're still mass-produced. >There's always a demand for superhero stuff and the toys look good True, but how many like Snydershit even based on designs alone? >>10202 These clips are too low quality to be able to judge upon. >>10198 It's just a greebled Fantastic Planet alien.
>>10207 >Ad hominem isn't an argument You're right, its an insult.
>>10175 >>10177 >>10208 Oh yeah these toys look great. Just amazing. Totally not cheap mass produced asymmetrical turds on par with chinese bootlegs.
>>10213 >cheap mass produced asymmetrical turds To be fair these are 20$toys (besides Darkseid and Steppenwolf which cost 40$ and it's overpriced) with complete new body molds, yes some of them look bad like pinheads Cyborg and Aquaman or badly posed like Flash, but overall they look pretty good and I don't even like Snyder designs. If you want to see abortion in toy form, you should look at McFarlane attempt at DCAU, now these are turds.
>>10214 Point is McFarlane toys are all shit. Made worse by already shit designs. Like you said though, it hurts when good designs like the animated JL universe ones are butchered.
>>10214 How did they make Steppenwolf even worse?
Why? Why do they think covering a character in a billion shards of metal is a good design? "Hurr more detail means more gooderer character design!"
>>10235 Because Zack Snyder is that edgy 14 year old edgy douchebag kid that thinks because he read King Arthur for class & vaguely paid attention in church that he's a genius. What's worse is his cultist followers think so to. So with an inflated ego he ignores any & all comic influence for rejected Michael Bay designs.
>>10237 Someone needs to give Zack Snyder Evola and Codrenau's books so he can give us the greatest "so bad it's good" modern pseudo-trad-fascist movie we need.
>>10207 >You didn't bother to answer my question whether his change in character happened in JLU or STAS Fine, I'll spoil it for you and point out that in the final episodes of Superman: The Animated Series, Superman gets brainwashed by Darkseid and becomes a villain for a while. This is why when Hamilton appears later he is no longer fully trusting of Superman. Even if Superman is a good guy, he's a dangerous force that must be controlled. >ignoring points I don't remember every detail of everything. It's been a few years since I watched it, and it took forever. The fact that the things you complain about weren't significant enough for me to notice, let alone remember, makes me figure they probably weren't significant. But maybe I'm wrong and I don't have the time to watch it all again, so I guess I have to concede. I've explained a few times that the only reason I'm not going into more detail about those other points is that they're so minor I literally can't remember the details about them. So I guess I have to concede. You must be correct. I don't think you're convincing many more people, though. I'm just the only one autistic enough to argue about it.
Four days left, will it be shit or semi-decent?
>>10307 You fucking know it's gonna be shit but the cultists will eat it up.
>>10307 Is there really going to be that much of a difference between this and what came out...jeez, four years ago?
>>10309 Joker says "You won't kill me because who else will give you a reacharound?" Martian Manhunter shows up. Steppenwolf is replaced by Darkseid at least in a few scenes. Wonder Woman launches a guy so hard there's a blood splatter from his head hitting the wall. Even more hammered in religious allegory now that Superman is resurrected.
>>10310 Martian Manhunter lives at the Farnsworth House?
>>10310 So, it's going to be Snyder's faggotry on display, for all to see, and people are going to praise it because it was his "true vision" of the movie all along, despite how terrible it was before WB called in Whedon to salvage whatever he could (By turning it into an Avengers rip-off).
>>10312 Yes. All the pretentious edgy trite Snyder could put in because WB is desperate & somehow think he'll save them is there. >>10311 Nah that's Batfleck's lake house.
I wonder if anyone is willing to stream this on 8chan's streaming platform. It would be nice to have a board or site wide watch-along party.
>>10370 I have half a mind to watch JL just to tear it apart. But what's the point? We already know it's bad & why it's bad.
>>10372 Because it fun ripping it apart MST3K-style, especially around like-minded shitposters.
>>10377 Maybe. These movies are painful to sit through but shitposting with others makes a lot of things more enjoyable.
>>10372 Laughing at a Snyder film is enjoyable if there's several people along for the ride. Let's not forget that there's still retards that defend anything from the DCEU elsewhere. Where else would you be able to mock a high-budget film freely?
>>10379 Trust me I know about the Snyder cultists. I see them on twitter all the time. I'll strongly consider watching the movie myself at least just to share with you all my suffering.
Alright, just saw it. Legally of course :) It's much better than the first version. Flash still doesn't work, not enough Superman resolution, no one notices a giant alien cocoon in the middle of Russia, a lot of Whedon scenes were either used or originally shot by Snyder, not as much grimdark as I was expecting (Looks like Snyder held himself back), everything flowed much better but it still felt like some scenes dragged on for too long or went by too quickly, Leto actually passes for a decent Joker, It should've been an episodic thing, Multi-verse confirmed with alternate times-lines, Zuthor is still bad, everyone besides the League do nothing but watch and overall the 1.33:1 aspect ratio is kinda shit for streaming. Also Anti-Life Deus ex machina. Overall 7.5/10, it's absolute garbage. - IGN
>>10388 You're far too kind. I'm going to watch this trash myself soon & I can guarantee I'll hate it more.
The movie opens with Superman's death screams being so loud they create a pulse of noise that spreads around the world. No not just everyone can hear it at once. A fucking visible sound wave pulse spreads around the world. Somehow this activates the MacGuffin boxes.
What fucking story takes 3 writers?!
>>10388 it's okay. The plot is more coherent now until you get to the anti life stuff that comes out of nowhere and makes no fucking sense, (how would they not connect that the world they had to leave the mother boxes on not be the same planet that repealed Darkseid) And the characters get more introduction and back story. The big ending action scene feels tighter. Batman's gay obsession with Superman that he has in the original is toned down, and the dumb shit about the random Russian family and Flash/Superman's competion to rescue people that just makes you wonder why Flash is even there is are thankfully gone. Flash and Cyborg have better roles and purpose in the plot, but that twink shit stain is still a terrible Barry Allen. Darkseid is actually overused. Literally the first time we see him is him getting his ass kicked in a flashback. Martian Manhunter's introduction is odd. He pretends to be Martha Kent and tells Lois to stop being emo and get out of her house so she'll be around to see Clark when he comes back. How he knows to do this is unknown.(honestly should have just kept the idea that Batman had the common sense to call her) Even more sequel bait shit at the end. They actually don't use the "we live a society" line in the movie, joker is actually mocking something an alt future version of Mera says to batman in the actual scene. No GL beside the one in the flashback and one mention by Steppenwolf that "this world has no lanterns"
This is a problem BvS had. Why do people suddenly love Superman? That whole movie people spent time debating whether it was ethical to have a super being solve all their problems & save lives. Y'know after the movie where he leveled a city in a fight with another super being of the same strength. Then he did nothing while a courthouse full of people died in a fiery explosion. Now people are so sad he's gone they leave flowers at his broken statue & hang banners mourning him? This world is so fucking inconsistent.
>>10438 >Why do people suddenly love Superman? presumably that would have happened in some MoS sequel Snyder didn't get to make before being told to do BvS.
You know what real heroes do? Kill armed terrorists violently. Being better than the villains they fight? That's stupid! This isn't your saturday morning cartoon! This is Snyder's GROUNDED EDGY REAL WORLD!
>>10440 I still feel people didn't GET Watchmen and how it basically did a breakdown on comic book shenanigans vs "realistic" situations.
>>10441 Frankly I think deconstructions are stupid.
WHY ARE YOU DUMB BITCHES JUST DOGPILING HIM?! STAB HIM! HE HAS EXPOSED FINGERS! CUT THEM OFF!
>>10442 99% of the time they generally are. Rarely is a deconstruction anything worthwhile to make since it generally is just "thing works, but what if... THING DIDN'T WORK like it doesn't work in real life!" and it's like, "then there is no fucking story you dumbass".
>>10444 Exactly. Y'know what's cooler? Making something more believable but still fantastic. People get suspend their disbelief that Ironman can fly & shoot lasers because we can see Tony build the suit to begin with. If we have a practical understanding of something then it's less unbelievable. However with actual superpowered characters there's little reason to make them "grounded". It's just trying to ruin something because you find it too silly.
>>10445 Right. Finding a balance of "this thing is impossible" with "this thing... MIGHT NOT be impossible" is not too hard to do. As you pointed out, technology based concepts of a super intelligent person work well since it's common enough for people to realize there are things outside of our understanding in everyday concepts and technology. No, I don't know the specific details on a submarine, but if the story focuses on someone who fucking loves submarines and has shitloads of money and makes some sort of super submarine that can fly and shoot lasers, I'm likely to believe it to a degree despite the end result being "impossible" or even impractical. Which reminds me that too many people bitch about "but [thing] is impractical!" like, bitch, is it COOL? Is it ENTERTAINING? Then fucking ENJOY it and stop bitching about it. It's why the 90's Power Rangers still holds up despite the stock footage because said footage was GOOD and being driven by Buckethead going apeshit on a guitar was all we needed, so when the shittastic Lionsgate film was made and they ignored all of what made power rangers entertaining in the first place, they had souless trash no one cared about. Summon the fucking Power Sword from the sky, Do a pose where the sword is struck by lightning, then swing it and make the opposing fall down and explode while buckethead keeps shredding. BUT NAH, HAVE KANYE WEST DROOL ON A MIC AND GO "UH UH UH YEAH", THAT'LL GET THE LITTLE KIDS INVESTED.
>>10446 People just don't know how to have fun anymore. Y'know what the reasoning is behind the Zyuranger team getting their powers? Magic buckles that hold the power of prehistoric beasts their tribes worshipped. That's all we need. It's the old adage "It's magic. I ain't gotta explain shit." that should be applied to the fantastical. Then if it's the practical you just apply the logic that, like you said, this person is just really smart & figured something out that no one thought of before.
Back to this bullshit, Darkseid isn't from this universe in Snyders continuity? Why does he hate comics so much he has to make everything more different? Mother Boxes are MacGuffins. Darkseid isn't native to the universe. Steppenwolf looks like a big monster baby.
Way to hype up a future Green Lantern. Dude in the ancient battle against Darkseid shoots green bolts then dies. Will & imagination? What's that?
>>10448 >Darkseid is so pissed at the DCU he hops dimensions to end it I fail to see a problem with this.
Barry Allen showed up. Ezra plays him like a completely spastic & the slow motion scene, because everything with a speedster after Days of Future Past have to do it, is just pure cringe.
Reminder this movie's dialogue was not written by Whedon.
I still hate his design but Cyborg's story is incredibly more interesting than this entire movie. Also he just inflated the economy.
>>10448 >Darkseid isn't from this universe in Snyders continuity? Are you fucking retarded, its always been like that. Fourth World is supposed to be separate from main dc cannon.
>>10454 Never fucking heard of that. Like it or not Darkseid & the New Gods shit has been part of DC universes for the larger part of years.
Lurk Moar
This is at least the 3rd or 4th f-bomb in the movie not even 2 hours in.
Batman in this continuity has been killing fighting criminals for 20 years. Somehow only having one Robin? Somehow still not killing Killer Croc, Deadshot, or Joker in all that time?
>>10451 <of all the cool things Flash can do, they chose to make him break glass by poking his finger Who thought this was in anyway cool visual image?! This so fucking lame. I never bothered to watch Snydershit (thankfully), it's even worse than I imagined. >>10452 <live-action movie can have the dumbest writing and it will still be regard with more respect than a cartoon
>>10455 DC has always gone back and forth if new genesis and apoklypse inhabit actual real space or exist on another plane.
>>10459 Technically both until they say otherwise.
>>10459 >>10460 Don't know why I expect any consistency from big two comics.
Forgive me for not knowing every minute detail of shitty comic book lore but isn't the Anti Life Equation supposed to be hidden on the borders of the universe in the Source Wall?
If you're gonna making Martian Manhunter, you should choose from one of two design philosophies. Shirtless with shorts or in a full body suit. Not both at the same time.
This movie can be summed up in one word. Miserable. But I'll give you another. Boring. This is the same movie as Whedon's version. Just way longer with so much fucking padding. Writers need to pay attention here. You don't stuff all the characterization & backstory for every team character in one single movie. You have multiple movies to flesh that out. Don't be like DC/Snyder. This movie simply isn't made for anyone. Kids can't watch it, for obvious reasons. It's not for comic book fans since everything in the Snyderverse ignores source material like the plague. It's not for a casual audience because they're not sitting through 4 hours of capeshit without getting bored. It's really just Snyder jerking himself off over how amazing & deep he is. I really fucking hate the man. No I'm not glad his daughter killed herself. That's fucked. But I wish him specifically all the misery in the world. He's so full of himself & has a fanbase, somehow, that won't stop falling at his feet over this garbage. Capeshit has nothing of value left. Even as an IP farm you'd just get more nonsense like this that takes elements it doesn't understand & turns it into a mess.
>>10464 >4 hours of capeshit It's that fucking long?
>>10461 It is consistent, that's why they made a map. >>10466 Didn't you read the thread or pay attention at all?
>>10462 Not since Final Crisis.
>>10467 Yeah, but I didn't see any information about the film adding TWO MORE HOURS to an already two hour film. Even the extended version of TLotR films only added 30-40 minutes of content.
>>10467 >It is consistent, that's why they made a map. That's bullshit & you know it. >>10469 That kind of thing was announced forever ago. It really really feels longer & I didn't even finish watching this crap.
The face superman makes when screaming could make for good oc at least.
>>10446 >it COOL? Is it ENTERTAINING? That's the thing though, those people don't find it entertaining because they can't turn their autism off.
>>10455 Eat a dick, Frank. Why would I bother reading comics the companies & writers don't give a shit about upholding or respecting in the first place?
>>10478 Do you read every comic in existence to learn the lore that won't matter because nothing is consistent & universe resets are practically as frequent as event gimmicks?
>>10479 Then why the hell are you here at all, when you don't even bother to do a simple google search for something whether its accurate or when you're not even sure yourself. Especially when you're trying to shit on something for not being accurate to the comics only to be shown to be a faggot?
>>10480 Because I like animation?
I expected nothing, and was still let down.
>>10482 I warned you. I warned all of you.
>>10455 This is the gayest bad you've ever given, Frank, like seriously, man, not cool.
>>10464 >padding Here's the thing, I watched it looking for shit they could have axed, and I got maybe 30-40 minutes max. A huge chunk of the extra run time is just set up for aquaman, flash, and cyborg which was sorely missing from the original. The main thing this movie shows is how fucking retarded Warner bros was in the first place for thinking they could jam in introducing three new characters, the bad guys, the actual plot, and superman's resurrection all into one fucking movie.
I liked it. I'm glad I got to see and compare both versions.
>>10491 >I liked it Why? What you liked about it?
>>10491 >I liked it Fucking how? Unless you're just being a contrarian, there's nothing to like. It's a long ass slog of a movie on it's own. But since it's a comic book movie it has to be compared to the comics. Of which it's absolutely nothing like. The CGI is worse than Lord of the Rings, the heroes are no better than the villains when they have no problem killing people, the downtime dialogue with each other is all cringe, the costumes are terrible, Flash is redundant, Martian Manhunter is just there for no reason, & the villains all having heavily filtered voices just makes it harder to understand them. There's nothing any sane person could possibly like.
>>10495 Same Anon from here- >>10388 Jesus fucking Christ Anon, cool it with the autism. Its no Citizen Kane but its no Green Lantern or Steel either. It's a fucking streaming film that's slightly better than the average. >But since it's a comic book movie it has to be compared to the comics. Wait aren't the same autist that got assblasted after someone pointed it out you know jackshit about capes either. Your bleeding from the anus about how much you hate this film while making a complete ass out of yourself and lashing out at anyone that didn't find the film to be the next The Room.
>>10493 >>10495 I liked seeing the new footage, and the backstories for Steppenwolf and Cyborg. I also thought Barry had some good scenes (though him saving Iris from the car crash was a little silly).
>>10502 >It's a fucking streaming film that's slightly better than the average. Even that's wrong. Not knowing cosmic bullshit lore isn't the same as knowing basic comic lore like BATMAN DOESN'T FUCKING KILL! This movie & the entire franchise spits in the face of this kind of basic knowledge, character designs, & characterization. Don't try moving goal posts to avoid the fact you got garbage taste. >>10503 The new footage just padded the already too long runtime. Cyborg's story is at least interesting because he's understandably in pain. Everything with Barry is just pure cringe. Steppenwolf I can't take seriously because he looks like a monster baby that's gonna cry. He's like Smeagol with how pitiable of a villain he is. That's not a good thing if you're trying to make him an actual threat.
>>10504 >cosmic bullshit lore isn't the same as knowing basic comic lore >the movie franchise that wasn't very faithful still isnt is <yet when they do stick to the source material, you still throw a chimpout when called out Man, you really are special type of retard aren't you.
>>10504 >cosmic bullshit lore isn't the same when it comes to cosmic characters, it is.
>>10495 > the heroes are no better than the villains when they have no problem killing people Elaborate.
>>10505 Hey guess what? I don't know cosmic lore bullshit. But I know enough shit about DC lore in general to know something is wrong. What fucking shill do you have to be to think that you can only know something if you read ALL the comics? >>10514 Batman kills people no problem. Superman killed a warlord & his men. Wonder Woman kills a bunch of terrorists violently.
>>10536 >What fucking shill do you have to be to think that you can only know something if you read ALL the comics?
>>10537 Oh fuck off. No one here has read every big two capeshit comic out there. No one should be expected to. Because there's nothing good to fucking talk about with the big two. >>10538 I know. But I was busy watching the shitty movie & commenting here to research everything.
>>10540 >No one here has read every big two capeshit comic out there If you want to autistically talk about comic book adaptations, you really do. Otherwise, just declare that the Snyder Cut is shit, because Justice League was already shit and two hours of added padding didn't change that one bit. There are several reason you can point out how it's a terrible movie without even having to refer to the source material.
>>10536 >If you kill your enemies they win Cuck.
>>10542 I did already say that but again you can't ignore the fact it spits in the face of source material because Snyder doesn't actually read ANYTHING he's basing this shit around. Why are you so fucking anally autistic about having to read everything? Fuck I can just google this shit but you're throwing an elitist hissy fit over shitty comics from a shitty company that stopped caring decades ago. >>10543 Fuck you. Superheroes are supposed to be the ideals we strive for. Batman alone should not be a fucking killer.
>>10544 I don't strive for cuckoldry. Batman in particular is the one that needs to kill people the most because he doesn't have any bullshit superpowers to protect him from getting killed, and no amount of skill could ever circumvent that.
>>10544 >Superheroes are supposed to be the ideals we strive for Leaving dangerous criminals with triple digit kill counts alive to further be a danger to the public even after the authories have proven to be unable to keep them looked up is a dumb fucking ideal and I don't want to strive for it. There's a sensible middle ground to be had somewhere between full out being the punisher and somebody still refusing to kill the Joker after the 649th time he's crippled mutilated or killed someone.
>>10504 >The new footage just padded So what you honestly think having Cyborg's entire origin being delivered as three line of off hand dialogue was better than actually seeing the mother box rebuild him? What the hell happen to show don't tell? And this is Cyborg mind you, the guy the general public actually doesn't know shit about, you can skip over Batman or Superman's origin since every knows that, but Cyborg kind of needs some proper build up. Especially since his origin ends up so damn closely linked to the plot macguffen.
>>10546 >and somebody still refusing to kill the Joker after the 649th time he's crippled mutilated or killed someone. The actual sensible solution is to not write your reoccurring antagonist to have a greater kill count than Pol Pot.
>>10546 >There's a sensible middle ground to be had somewhere between full out being the punisher and somebody still refusing to kill the Joker after the 649th time he's crippled mutilated or killed someone. That would require the writers to actually have A FUCKING ENDING PLANNED FOR ALL THIS SHIT. There were several story arcs that were planned as the ending to comic the as far back as decades ago; but the publishers didn't want their cash cows to die, so they're going to keep this shit going and rewrite any and all closure that took place. That's REAL the reason Joker is NEVER going to be killed (Outside if non-cannon material), because the "Gods" of the universe will never allow it.
>>10548 Joker kills 30 people in his first three appearances and stabs himself in the heart by the end of the first issue of Batman. Maybe it was because he was planned to die off by the end but the Joker literally can't be written without having a greater kill count than Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge.
>>10549 I think at one point it was shown that even The Spectre couldn't bring judgement to Joker. Which is egregiously ridiculous.
The real justice league is the one where everyone on the amazon island gangbang Lois Lane.
>>10570 Hey /tv/
>>10546 >>10549 Joker would definitely get the death sentence in any state with the death penalty, and get life in jail in any other. He's demonstrated time and time again that he's a psychopath who's well aware of what he's doing. And since he's also demonstrated that he's able to organize lackeys and manipulate people, it can be assumed beyond any reasonable doubt that any symptoms of actual insanity he would display while in Arkham are just faked. I don't know what the government would do if he kept escaping beyond tightening security to and extreme degree.
>>10577 Its a good thing Gotham is in a blue state then
>>10547 Apparently there's more footage unused, something they're saving for the blueray release.
>>10584 >synder cut of the synder cut I wouldn't even be shocked if this was the case.
>>10587 The most obvious was Joker's "WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY" speech, the entire thing was just cut out.
Why couldn't steppenwolf be Kalibak anyway? Kalibak would be far more suited to being a giant cgi monster.
>>10590 Because they needed someone to kill and Kalibak is too iconic.
>>10592 >kalibak is too iconic >kalibak Outside of the Justice League cartoon, I don't recall him.
>>10547 We already had footage in BvS showing the Mother Box rebuild him. There's not much else that needs to be explained. Aquaman didn't need to be explained since he has a movie now going into all of it. >>10546 >>10545 Well yeah from a real world standpoint it's stupid for Batman to leave murderers like Joker or Two Face alive. But this is comics. These characters are supposed to stand for ideals beyond the normal real world standard. Hell just look at the legal system today in our real world & tell me someone like Joker wouldn't get off scott free through a revolving door.
Why is Joker even in this? He seems to be totally irrelevant outside of the Suicide Squad trash. Alluding to a backstory we've never seen and will likely never see is pretty fucking stupid and crowbarring him into this is a truly bizarre choice, though that said there's plenty of bizarre choices in there, it's like they crammed everything they could into a blender and hoped some element of the flavour wouldn't be shitty but instead of course all of it was. Someone should just cuck Batman and kill Joker first, especially since now it's fucking Jared Leto who wouldn't kill him given the opportunity? It's an an ironic twist the guy who plays Superman is so UTTERLY forgettable as a human being or Kryptonian I could see him this afternoon IRL and be completely in the dark as to who he was, he could be in the fucking Superman suit and I'd assume he was some random cosplayer. He could get away with working at the Daily Planet no bother, no fucker would clock him as being a flying alien as the only thing they have in common is they're both so nondescript.
>>10600 >Why is Joker even in this? Because Phoenix's Joker was a massive success so they think any Joker will draw in the crowd. Like I keep saying, it makes no sense in universe why Joker is still alive when Batman has no problem killing. Which he's apparently been doing for 20 years. Plus he already killed Dick Grayson. Snyder's own universe has no internal logic to it. It's as bad as the CW DC shows.
>>10601 >Which he's apparently been doing for 20 years He wasn't killing for 20 years, after Robin's death is when he stopped giving a shit and then semi-retired. If Bat-Fleck got his solo movie you would've seen his rogues gallery still alive. Still doesn't explain why he didn't kill Joker, probably some pseudo psychological thing just explained poorly. You're just shit at looking shit up Anon.
>>10602 That's bullshit. Robin's weapon is a fucking halberd. You're telling me this is the weapon of a nonlethal hero?
>>10603 And Batman still throws bladed shurikens with blades on his gauntlets, regardless of the universe.
>>10604 Yes. But outside of live action, he doesn't actively use them to mortally wound. They're for defense & throwing to knock guns away. I don't know why you're trying to defend Snyder's nonsense writing.
>>10605 >They're for defense Never said I was defending anything Synder wrote, you're just being retarded.
>>10606 The gauntlets are for defense. Arguably this is defense too. Guess what? None of these instances does he kill people with them. Only wound. Try justifying that with a double bladed weapon Snyder's Robin has. You really have nothing to argue here.
>>10607 >double bladed weapon Snyder's Robin has Like Damian.
>>10607 >Only wound Anon you can wound people with a double bladed weapon especially if you know how to use it. Plus Robin's staff looks like swiss armyknife of tools, the ends might be bladed but the fact they tried to incorporate various weird hooks indicates some double use. We'll never know because we'll probably never see a Robin in this universe outside of the suit.
>>10590 >Kalibak <giant cgi monster Kalibak is more like savage/caveman dwarf, they should use actual human wearing costume alongside cgi. >>10592 >>10598 TBH, I don't think any of the New Gods are iconic outside of Darkseid, but don't worry:^) , there's going to be a live-action movie by the nigeress who directed Scandal and Selma - https://archive.is/eGZ7X Lightray is going to be niggerwashed, I'm calling on it now
>>10610 >Fans were quick to voice their approval over the choice of director Read: 'The fans we decided to listen to on twitter'
>>10628 Isn't that amazing how we live in information cancer age and yet marketiniggers who work for big corporations being so lazy and incompetent that they rely on twatter as their only/main source? >Ava DuVernay’s favorite comic book hero is Big Barda Even assuming this is not lie, how badly she is going to butcher Big Brada?
>>10646 >They cut some stupid shit like Aquaman sitting on the lasso of truth and Flash and Superman being gay butt buddies but at least it makes some sense now, where the original felt like a disjoined mishmash of scenes. Those reshoots and the millions wasted by Josh Whedon was really fucking unneeded. >There's the enduring issue of how Darkseid got selective amnesia about the planet where he left all his shit and got his ass kicked. If Zacky boi actually got some of his tard wranglers to point this out, he might have just made some stupid shit like Pre-Darkseid/Uxas arriving with his armada via Boom Tube or add some more retarded dialogue where they were led to Earth by the fucking Mother Boxes without being told where they were, Hell, get the Green Lantern Corp to fuck up his fleet into running when Yalan Gur got flipped off to make it look like they were didn't have a choice in the matter.

Calm Down Faggot
Words cannot express how tired I am of capeshit. I don't know why I expected something good or different after the Michael Bay fad but I never expected such boring safe crap that make the pretty trashy comics and Shonen Mango look like masterpieces.

>>10785 What's hideous is we'll never see the back of it, the DC characters especially have more (disjointed) written mythology and story behind them than actual IRL oldfag gods and myths, at best the trend of capeshit movies slows, IP ownership clogs the gears, the occasional re-re-re-re-reboot flops and they just dig it up and resurrect it a few years down the line, life imitates the comics.
>>10788 Pros: >it's not Joss Whedon Cons: >it's Zack Snyder
