>Justin straight up gave up I think, he hasn't been anywhere on Season 4's writing team
That's because he was busy with his own show on Hulu.
>But anyways what do you think about Reddit and Memey as it is now, if anything?
Hard to say, because I stopped watching mid-way through season two. Only episode that I liked was the one about ship battery. Other than that, they were pretty weak. Get Shwifty was idiotic, and the purge episode was just Dan Harmon having his small mind blown by a movie concept and insisting on lousily shoehorning it into the show. He did the same thing on Community with inception, and in season three of Rick and Morty with Fury Road from what I have seen.
On what little bits and pieces of season three that I saw, show looks like it just continues to decline. Pickle Rick was especially stupid and obnoxious.
>This makes sense because Dan Harmon said they'd be using a more loose writing style where the jokes make the plot and not the other way around.
That's just a lazy Harmon excuse. He did not have troubles with some continuity in the first three seasons. There are twelve and a half more seasons of Rick and Morty that need to be made. Harmon gets lazy after first season of his shows, he can't stop himself from getting drunk from too long, nor can contain his obsession with meta-narratives and cynicism, Roiland is only doing voices at this point, and fanbase they grew is obsessed. Harmon realizes at least some of that, and "loose" writing style comment is just there to deflect criticism over fucking things up. It will work only for a time. Sooner or later show's overall quality will dip, and fanbase will turn on Harmon just like it did on GoT show creators.
