The Bible Anonymous 01/19/2022 (Wed) 19:17:10 No. 87 [Reply]
One chapter at a time.

I did end up writing what I wanted to say about Matthew 1. First off I'd suggest everyone download a bible reading program where you can word search like Olive Tree Bible. https://biblehub.com/nkjv/matthew/1.htm The top light blue part let's you change the translation Matthew 1. The genealogy is beyond me. That's interesting to some people. I'm not knowledgeable enough. Part of the prophecy for the messiah is that he is the descendant of David so here Matthew is just confirming this. And also Jewish tradition is obsessed with genealogy which comes up later in the New Testament basically saying “quit being so obsessed with genealogies.” Then there's the pregnancy of Mary. Mary is impregnated by the Power of God's spirit. She tells this to Joseph who no doubt thought it was quite insulting for her to come up with such an excuse. He prepares to call off the wedding quietly since he assumes Mary is unfaithful but he doesn't want to embarrass her. It's a good example of how people in ancient times are surprisingly not stupid. “An angel came and said I'd give birth to the messiah.” This is laughed at by her husband of course. Only when Joseph is visited by an angel himself does he accept the truth. People think “oh these superstitious ancient people and early Christians all believing this new fairy tail.” People weren't stupid and neither is Christianity. It's based on very real historical facts. Emmanuel is the name of the messiah but his name is given as Jesus. Again that was just the reality and that's what Matthew wrote. Of course “Jesus” was not his name almost certainly it was Ye-shua. Jesus is just what we say in English. Ye-shua of course is similar to God's name Yaweh. Just a small note.
Well Jesus knew the scriptures so why didn't he change his name to Emmanuel if he wanted to fool people into thinking he was the messiah? How come the Romans who some claim invented the entire New Testament decide to call him Jesus and not Emmanuel if they wanted to fool the Jews? God is always a bit odd and not what you expect. Jesus was not exactly what the Jews wanted. They wanted a messiah who would murder the Romans. Likewise don't expect the antichrist to be so easy to guess just because you read the scriptures. It won't be exactly as most expect.
Also I didn't mention that Emmanuel means "God with us" which is exactly what Jesus turned out to be. The apostate Jews don't like that Jesus has this very special status despite the fact the word of God has always been hinted at as a person in the Bible. Gosh I wish I knew the Bible so much better, But I mostly absorbed from other people online who review passages and these things, like Micheal Heiser. In many ways going through the Bible on my own will be helpful to me but in reality to anyone else it's helpful for them to just watch some short commentary like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dv4-n6OYGI which will probably have much more information. My comment on Jesus' birth itself was taken straight from C.S. Lewis. It's one of the first things he noted when he read the Gospels seriously for the first time.

It's just no good to go boasting about your connection with God or the gifts or visons you've recieved. However, you can of course talk about them when you're asked. And I'm asking.

One witnessing mission is now over. If any mustard seeds were planted I can't say for sure. It was the main focus place so a solemn sad experience. I don't think I've ever been so sad, not just since I was born again but ever in my life. It's not depression. It's this strange acceptance that you really can't help everyone. Not everyone wants to get away from their pain. They just won't believe enough and their hearts have grown so hard. And is it their fault? The society has tried to rip the truth right out of them. I couldn't believe when I came to Christ "how on Earth could this be, our society is so evil." But yes, I don't want to think about it too much.
I know it's hard to accept Jesus truly and to believe in what he has done. And to also repent earnestly and ask to be brought into his comfort and God's embrace. Whether it happens right away or over a long time or in a few years as long as you never give up. And then that's only the beginning. We have to really understand what we have done wrong and want a second chance to have a different life.
In the same way we feel weird, like our prayers might not be serious enough, not hot and on fire but we need to pray anyways. because something trumps nothing. We need to practice. You can't learn piano without being bad at it first.

I have been convinced surprisingly that the King James Bible is best. I did not care at all about this argument but I was sort of force fed it while listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLC54a_Klog And then after looking into it yes, slightly older manuscripts doesn't automatically mean more accurate. This I thought was a problem though since God's words should be preserved and this seems like only a New Testament problem. However there are variations in Old Testament manuscripts and probably would be much more if more had actually survived. https://truthnet.org/Bible-Origins/10_Old-Testament-Tanakh-Manuscripts/ Specially one of the verses missing in the Alexandra new testament is the mention that you need to be a believer to be baptised. So infant baptism doesn't count.

We should do a reading. Every anon using his favorite translation. Let's go over one of the gospels.
>>84 Look bucko. I'm busy! I'm a busy man, you think I got time to bible study for you! I'm a pastor at 5 renowned churches take a number, sport. I'd go through the Gospel chapter by chapter here. I don't know maybe I'll do that. If I had internet at home I would definitely. Actually yeah I think I have an idea to do that tomorrow.
>>85 What the darn-diddily-doodily did you just say about me, you little witcharooney? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class at Springfield Bible College, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret mission trips in Capital City, and I have over 300 confirmed baptisms. I am trained in the Old Testament and I’m the top converter in the entire church mission group. You are nothing to me but just another heathen. I will cast your sins out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before in Heaven, mark my diddily-iddilly words. You think you can get away with saying that blasphemy to me over the Internet? Think again, friendarino. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of evangelists across Springfield and your IP is being traced by God right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggorino. The storm that wipes out the diddily little thing you call your life of sin. You’re going to Church, kiddily-widdily. Jesus can be anywhere, anytime, and he can turn you to the Gospel in over infinity ways, and that’s just with his bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in preaching to nonbelievers, but I have access to the entire dang- diddily Bible collection of the Springfield Bible College and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your sins away off the face of the continent, you diddily-doo satan-worshipper. If only you could have known what holy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you from the Heavens, maybe you would have held your darn-diddily-fundgearoo tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re clean of all your sins, you widdillo-skiddily neighborino. I will sing hymns of praise all over you and you will drown in the love of Christ. You’re farn-foodily- flank-fiddily reborn, kiddo-diddily. Also yeah sounds cool.

I want to find new Christian videos and people to watch online.
I'd like an increase of Christian education but only if it's "for dummies" because I'm a dummy. I'm not reading such and such academic paper about such and such thing.
>>54 A good overview followed by study on individual theological questions is a good place to start. james Hitchcock's history of the catholic church is a good over view of the period following the death of christ until today. And from there most people spend some time studying the Nicene convention.

Destruction of Adultery. Never stop praying for deliverance from pornography. Destroy it from your computer. Do not look at any show that sexually provokes, even if it's only for a second, it comes from hell. Pray for deliverance from masturbation. Fight your thoughts the moment you start thinking bad things. Keep praying and in God's good time you can be delivered from it all.

>>42 I was only saved from masturbation after praying enough, it just got sucked out of me. Any addiction can only fully be cured by God because the battle is not with flesh and blood but with spirits. 90% of the time I'd say any addiction is demonic. And when I accepted that I couldn't do anything about it and begged enoguh times for it to be taken from me it was.
Anime Addiction The first thing is to of course delete all anime porn if you are a collector. If the porn is lumped up with regular anime images the whole folder has to go you can't go sorting through these things, looking at the porn is just going to give a crack for demons to enter. Deleting all the porn and making sure you don't go to any websites to collect more that's good. Then what the people do is they start pornless masturbation, which is a good step, they masturbate to the thought of their anime wife. Well at least you're thinking about sex in marriage now. But of course masturbation is still an addiction, and do you think Jesus masturbated? I don't think so. I don't think you're committing adultery at all, you're not looking at a woman with lust you're looking at a bug eyed alien drawing. That's not a problem, the problem is are you addicted? I can't imagine anyone being a controlled masturbator, people masturbate because they can't help it. And all addiction is demonic. You need control over your own flesh. So now people will have “clean” anime images. They'll have just a collection of images of their waifu. If you are still masturbating you need to get rid of it all. That's very hard when someone has spent their life collecting anime things on their computer. Cutting off your arm is very difficult. But there's ways to make it easier. deleting chunks of your collection at a time. Or the best solution I think is to make it hard to access. Sometimes it's hard to get rid of things but you can put it on a flash drive and bury it or put all the files in the receyling bin just for now. When it's harder to access it beomces clearer you don't need it. Give it up and you will find it will eventually return to you in a more proper way.
