CRYSTAL EDITION 𝕎hat have you been 𝕡laying? I kno𝕨 Pokemon is be𝕪ond salvation at this point, and it would be better to stick to SMT instead, but I like playing the old games and checking some romhacks 𝕗or fun.

Pokemon's been downhill since Gen 6. The next game GF shits out will be at least as casualized and stale as the last. More importantly, is it cheating to say I'd fuck Latias?
Anon the letters that make up WPWYF were written in code and damaged.
>>129174 >>129150 SMT's really not much better, as far as that goes.
Any good fan games/rom hacks that aren't competitive autism?

There has been very little excitement or anything worthwhile going on for Pokémon. Part of me feels like this generation's been rushed to hell and it's only been a year.

I got a 3ds that had a shit ton of games, including Pokemon games. Haven't played one since Ruby. Which set is better, X/Y or Sun/Moon? Deer looks kinda neat.

Before this thread devolves into pokefurfaggotry, let me tell you that a new batch of Nintendo leaks came today, and between the usual stuff there's the source code of Pokemon Sun & Moon (not sure if it's the original edition or the Ultra edition): anonfiles.com/Xa5dk9gbp1 anonfiles.com/F2p3v2g4pb anonfiles.com/D6J0vagapd anonfiles.com/50Qbv3gcpd Mirror: https://mega.nz/file/nSQhSAaR#Qx84MJBKYawB-px6dD3ffE77WpdN5ltenekdUCgzpkY According to 4chan /vp/, there are some things missing from the source code: - resources (models and text) - some build scripts (the code reference files built by some ruby scripts, but they're nowhere to be found); there are also some garc files but I cannot find which code is responsible for building them. - some debugging libraries, required to run niji_local.exe My best guess is that in order to reduce the chance of leaks, the dev team, art team, and writing team all work with as few interaction as possible. – Some /vp/fag. This leak is a couple of hours old and people still are figuring things out, so more interesting stuff may appear later,
(1.27 MB 1920x1080 ClipboardImage.png)
>>129331 Meowth has caught Covid please understand. >>129344 >>129346 You can use speedup in emulator (gen 6 and 7), there's also instant-text patches that do not remove dialogue, but they do eliminate the scrolling. But why stop there? Use wallhack on a toggle to eliminate the annoying HM usage which is just a boring animation playing each time to pad out the gametime. >I want old Pokemon back with new graphics I want a battle tower simulator with gen 8 and custom pokemon. >>129331 They did actually add an item that allows you to give pokemon hidden abilities, but their chain raid den thing basically strings together fights that take shitloads of time each for a CHANCE at getting a random legendary at the end of it, unless every encounter has a chance to spawn one. In a game where some Gigantimax event fights can be outright impossible due to RNG or bad team setup. You get a new area, a new set of fan favorite mons, but the game hasn't really advanced outside of handing out items that make some of the gripes from earlier games handing exp candies out so you can realistically train a few teams instead of maybe 6, allowing you to make Ability capsules so you don't have to throw away a bromon, allowing you to use hidden abilities with the new item, including on starter mons and a few early legendaries which only have their hiddens through events go away. Ultimately the game hasn't really changed, it's the EA Sports of mon games and the west really only has Pokemon and Shin Megami Tensei.
>>129401 Can't you literally just render teams based on code input? There's no need to change hidden abilities at all. You can just insert a code and get a team of 6. You can even share these codes with friends.
>>129401 >They did actually add an item that allows you to give pokemon hidden abilities Is there a way to take Pokemon with a hidden ability and give them a normal ability yet, or is Fissure+No Guard Machamp too scary?
>>129406 It's not known if the new hidden ability item switches pokemon back to normal abilities, might not. Really Pokemon should either not have one hit KO moves if you can make them guarunteed one hit KOs no matter what. Turns the game into rocket tag especially since you can Choice Scarf + guarunteed Tailwind with Pelliper or another bird with Focus Sash.

>>129360 is it just pokemon shit or are there other games related to the leak
Pokemon has done everything except the one thing that would probably be the most successful and most people would want: an MMO. Doesn't seem like they'll do it since the main series hasn't innovated in a long time. If I was making a pokemon like game I'd try to mimic the early anime where you don't lose all the skills you've gained, and you'd be able to do interesting things with them instead of just pure attack and defense. I'll probably work on that at some point or a poke gals visual novel when I have the time. Since Nintendo isn't going to do it, somebody has to.
>>129482 >MMO Gen 6 is literally an mmo.
(153.80 KB 718x340 SMT Imagine.jpg)
>>129485 MMOs are defined by community interaction, and nothing in Pokemon resembles that, if you talk to another person's avatar you get a generic message possibly linked to their recent actions and a minor item but nothing else. We have "raids" but no dungeons or instances to fight through with friends. I think they're TRYING to move towards an MMO due to how the chain raid battles work, but they're highly restricted. I'd play a SMT:IMAGINE pokemon clone, though. Shit was basically what a pokemon MMO would be like. Imagine will always be better because your protag could also fight and cast spells alongside your demon.
>>129479 What if he wants to play Pokemon on his 3ds? You know, like he said he wants to.
>>129482 They had the best opportunity to make the best MMO ever: Pokemon Go. If they just gave it an actual battle system, simply ported from the main games, and enabled regular battles and trading like the main games had, then that would be it. Pokemon would be real. Instead it's like they deliberately made the game worse so as not to compete with the main series games. Of course the main series games would still have the appeal of exploring their fantasy worlds and enjoying their stories and characters, so I don't think it would actually make them obsolete.
>>129340 Just look up the differences, i went with moon because it lets me have a rematch with lana, and pair up with her in the battle tree, exclusive pokes don't matter as you can pokesav those.
>>129533 >Instead it's like they deliberately made the game worse so as not to compete with the main series games. Anon, you have to understand that Nintendo, despite all their marketing and game titles, is a hardware company. Their business strategy is based upon what's going to be the most beneficial way to for them to make a profit from their game consoles, the hardware. Any money made from the software is just a bonus, but not their goal. If you want to get an idea of the distinction, here's an interview with Steve Jobs and Bill Gates from back in 2007 talking about some of this: https://invidio.us/watch?v=iITBqB_uJdI
>>129553 What? Consoles have almost always been a loss leader. It's like printers. The hardware is cheap, the money comes from the games/ink. (Separately, Nintendo has always made their consoles from whatever electronics supplies are in high supply to reduce cost)
>>129533 The game was developed on top of the existing framework that Nitanic or whoever had for their other AR game. I remember a guy I worked with talking up their older game a few years before Go dropped. When Go came out I remember thinking that it sounded a lot like that old game with Pokemon concepts laid on top of it.

>>129150 I played Pokemon: Shield, borrowed from my younger brother, and I disliked it. The game's pacing is freaking terrible, every time you go to a city, the characters like Sonia and the rival interrupt your adventure for a fucking talk, a rival battle, or for the story progression that I couldn't handle it anymore and stop playing the game. I don't even know why are people even talking about this. I'm disappointing that there isn't a non-linear choice that players can't take any gym like the first one. Also, the level gating is retarded. I'm not sure why GameFreak added this crap since it discourages players from catching some cool wild Pokemon.

>>129672 >diamond >pearl >high tier Everything in those two is lag. Save? Lag. Enter a building? Lag. Deal damage to an enemy? Lag. Walking around? Lag. Surf? Oh you're fucked. The world is poorly designed, having HM roadblocks everywhere, sending you through the same mountain with the same random encounters repeatedly, and funneling you into trainer battles non-stop so you will fill out your Pokedex (which now only cares about Pokemon seen, not owned) and meet the requirements to unlock the national dex. There's literally three fire families in the Pokedex, one starter, one legendary. Importing from Gen 3 has an arbitrary per day limit. Platinum wasn't much better in most areas. All DP added to the series was the physical special split. That's greatly welcome, but it sure doesn't make the games good and where the series started getting shit. HGSS is an anomaly due to GF being able to fix most of their horrible code and use game design from before they went full retard.
I have only played to mainline pokemon games, pearl and sun and I thought Pearl was good. Sun i got bored of really easily. I do love pokemon mystery dungeon though those games are great. Unfortunately my game constantly crashes at the end of chapter 16 in super pokemon mystery dungeon, should have taken it back to the store immediately but I was lazy and now the gamestop in my area is gone. If you guys didn't exist, where would anyone get their porn? There's a scarcity after all, keep reposting and may they never get removed from the internet. But I understand what it is you want. I just think it's stupid. >>130023 >Which Pokemon gen you think is the best? I think they all have their perks and flaws. I wouldn't recommend a single pokemon game as they come out of the box. I use cheats and mods to make them more tolerable. I think all games currently are extremely limited still (even with mods). Like when I play a romhack of emerald and realize, while injecting, how little choice I have when it comes to interesting type combinations and I drop the game since it's just artificial difficulty at that point. I rather just play the endgame and skip the maingames entirely. Gen 7 has the best end-game. But I enjoy all endgames. For a first timer, I'd say gen 5 is the most solid experience. So perhaps one could say that is the best gen. >some understanding Words do. Tier lists don't tell you emerald is better than RS.
>>130023 >you have to risk to delete some cool moves for the progression in the game and it was a pain in the ass. Needing to find a move deleter to get rid of these moves was fucking stupid. i guess they thought people might get themselves stuck if they got to an HM-needing place with a traded monster without having the actual HM and then overwriting the attack, but they could have just written a check to see if you have the HM before letting you delete the attack.

I haven't played Pokemon since Gen IV. The handholding and unskippable pseudo-cutscenes are unbearable. Most recently I did play around a few years ago, Touhou Puppet Dance Performace: Shard of Dreams. Was lots of fun. I wanted to have one of every 2hu of every style, so I collected four of every single one, but my autism petered and I never went through with getting them all their style changes and maxing all their levels. I probably knew the names of the characters better during my time playing this pokemon rip off than from playing the official games or reading doujinshi. Does anyone know if they're still updating this on the regular whenever a new 2hu game comes out to keep up with Zun's new characters? I haven't kept much track of the games, but I think TPDP:SoD only covered characters up through 2hu fifteen, and I played 2hu sixteen years ago already. >>129930 Promotions.

Like when I play a romhack of emerald and realize, while injecting, how little choice I have when it comes to interesting type combinations and I drop the game since it's just artificial difficulty at that point. I'm glad this pokemon thread didn't devolve into WPWYF degeneracy so that instead we could ascend to these stellar heights of interlocution.
Sword & Shield's Galar region is beyond awful. No dungeons, hyper-linearity with routes and the fact it has half the trainers of USUM which is a underwhelming game in its own right. The fact that the bogs in the postgame aren't the main villains of the story is wasted potential, especially since the Chairman Rose plot is garbage.

>>131397 Idk but it was in the second town right before the big ass cave and I don't want to go back into the game to find out even though my n3ds (I injected the game into my n3ds so I can play it portably) is right over there.
>>131942 >According to leakers Calyrex when riding one of the horses the Pokémon have two abilities as opposed to one. Pic related. are we sure it's not just one new abilty that combines the two effects?
>>131953 Nope, it's two separate abilities that can be used at once from what've been hearing. The abilities combo off each other.

I haven't even finished any games past gen 5, i tried to beat moon two years ago but dropped it after the game literally teleported me away from the elite 4 so i could deal with RIRRIE-CHAN's mother even though i couldn't give a single fuck about this aryan loli.

The Discordfags that have been leaking a lot of stuff from Nintendo leaked a beta version of Pokemon Sword that includes Pokemon that were cut from the final game.

Are there any good romhacks to emerge in the last few years?
>>129672 Nice seeing my OC (third image) still floating around, one of if not the last things I ever posted on /vp/ before I moved over to 8chan. >>129698 Usually I'd just call someone like you an autistic faggot and be done with it. But today I feel "generous" and will put effort into explaining WHY you're an autistic faggot whining about unimportant shit. >M-muh DP is so slow. Ah the ADHD is talking once again. >M-muh HMs. It's either that (which is quite organic and can believably be put anywhere), "duh powr out", or as a third option how about a nice long corridor? >and funneling you into trainer battles non-stop Name one game that doesn't do that. >which now only cares about Pokemon seen, not owned >There's literally three fire families in the Pokedex Need a hankie? >Importing from Gen 3 has an arbitrary per day limit. They've all got some inane system. >>130017 >A terrible image made by people that don't understand you need to actually do more than put pictures on a list. The commentary is lacking and what little there is is ignorant. "Brevity is the soul of wit" I didn't comment much since 99.9% of the "really important" shit that bumps things up and down tier lists (especially ones about Pokemon games) is insignificant "this tickled my autism just right" shit that every gen (even the completely shit ones like gen 6+) has tons of.
>it's your fault it's too slow What ever happened to playing games at the speeds you're comfortable at? Game's are supposed to be fun. Wishing it was faster doesn't mean you can't make it as slow as you want, it just adds an option. There's nothing wrong with wanting to use more of your brain's capacity if you're capable. The fact that you consider to ridicule someone playing more of a game. DP are slow games. Slow even relatively to other games in the same series, which clearly means even the developers didn't want a game that slow. Speed in turn-based games is just padding. I bet the fucks that are this willing to defend a game own a Switch and only play on original hardware. Thank god I emulate.
>>132732 The slowness is slight, with only surfing having any validity to the claim but since there's basically no water in Sinnoh it's once again a non issue. The real problem is every single time it's you ADHD babbys that need everything to be moving around like it's a jack rabbit on crack. Turn based games however have never been that big on hyperspeed combat since well they're turn based. > I bet the fucks that are this willing to defend a game own a Switch and only play on original hardware. Nintendo pissed me off years ago so they are on a VERY long if not permanent boycott. Also since Gamefreak supports niggers (they've given money to BLM) they too are on the same type of boycott.
>>133380 >slowness is slight I disagree with your opinion and will continue to play more of a game in less time. I'm not here to convince you to change your opinion. But to argue about your opinion is boring. Didn't read the rest of your post. These 3 words alone are enough to suggest you do not understand the difference between an opinion and a fact.
>>133411 It's not an opinion it's a fact it's only slightly slow. There's been comparison videos made ad nauseum you can find on Youtube and the only thing (like I said before) with any validity is that surfing is slow but since there's basically no water it's a non issue. Also it's amazing you can even stop to reply since my 5 whole sentences are just slaying your tiny ADHD ridden attention span.
>>133444 >it's not an opinion on whether it is slow <it's your fault it's slow I disagree with your opinion and will continue to play more of a game in less time.
>>132393 >Mega Rayquaza They cut both Mega Evolutions and most legendaries, Rayquaza included, from the initial release under the lie of having to re-do all of the models. Just more reason to distrust those lying kikes, even the japs aren't immune to the corruption of cutting corners for rich companies.

>>133583 I'm telling you it's ESP.
>>133589 I know, it's talking indirectly via by using Peony as a proxy but communicating nonetheless. Though it's more direct compared to past games such as Tapu KoKo communicating via the Z-Ring or Zoroark via illusions.
Are there any Pokemon fangames which actually have a good and interesting plot or fun characters that don't appear just for a moment and then do nothing for the rest of the fucking game like in the original games?
I've been playing Pearl on and off, it's alright but I wish it was Platinum so damn bad. The D/P version of Eterna Forest is fucking lame, and I'm not as big of a pirate as I used to be, so I can't just load up a Platinum ROM and finding in-stock copies of Pokemon games seems like a journey and a half on its own. At least I have Explorers of Sky, so I can just go back to the best Pokemon game if I'm truly fucked.
>>133581 You'd think this deer thing would be another mew clone, but it has 100BST less, they could have just rearranged the stats for the rider forms like they did with shaymin-sky. >ice horse is yet another slow, bulky ice type with a vast movepool and high attacking stats J U S T
So just how exactly would GF fuck up a Sinnoh remake at this point? I want to prepare for when they start defiling my favorite regions of the mainline games with shit remakes.
>>129672 That's been the norm since gen 6, I think. Those two cocksuckers in Kalos would interrupt me between every route for some inane bullshit. The modern games can't seem to leave you the fuck alone for who seconds lest you realize how shit the game itself is. And somehow gen 7 is much worse, and more hand-holding at the same time. Mandatory trainer school segment? In a game that's so fucking streamlined and made accessible that a retarded lobotomized orangutan would feel insulted and go off to fling shit at rival tribes instead? Fuck that.
>>133826 >No Battle Frontier >Uses DP Pokedex instead of the superior Platinum one with additions >A good number of dungeons like Mt. Coronet becomes hallways >Characters will teleport you to locations throughout the story so you won't get lost like in ORAS
>>134074 >Characters will teleport you to locations throughout the story so you won't get lost like in ORAS Wait, what the hell? How so?
>>134082 In ORAS for example after you beat Norman Wally teleports you to Mauville City instead of letting you figure out where you need to go next like in the originals.
>>133526 >it's your fault it's slow Yes it is your fault you can't sit your ADHD ridden ass still and need a constant ultra high speed inflow of stimulation from at least 3-4 devices each doing different things at the same time in order to avoid feeling "depressed".
>>134162 >apologizing for slow gameplay "The game runs too slowly" should basically never be considered an invalid criticism. It means things were added to the game that didn't need to be, and there was no way to get through them in a timely manner. Why didn't the first gen have this problem? Haven't even played many of the later games by the way, I don't have a stake in this.

>>134162 It's even documented on Bulbapedia that it runs in half the framerate of the GBA games. Stop being a blind retard about something so goddamn obvious. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Generation_IV#Alterations_from_Generation_III

>>134162 I can read hours upon hours of the most dry books with statistics in them. And I stil emulate my Pokemon games. What now fagboy? >>134193 You can play the first gen sped-up on n64. In an era with less multiplayer games to keep you occupied I can understand requiring a long single-player experience but games don't suddenly stop providing gameplay once you've beaten them, you can just beat them again. >>133735 Nobody is forcing you. >I can't just load up a rom These are the people that consider themselves video game hobbyists. Absolute insane corporate cock-sucking behavior. Shouldn't you be buying more games rather than just playing them? If your goal was to trigger me, good fucking job. >>134209 Framerate =/= speed
