I did the same for Higurashi and agreed. I was also impressed with the console sprites that they had the
crazy eyes drawn pretty well. In Umineko, I felt that the console
crazy eyes were not nearly as intense as the original sprites'.
>The anime spoiled me
I have been tempted to watch the anime for some time, been hearing very good things about it from people who haven't read Higurashi though. Is it worth the watch?

>In an otherwise pure-hearted route, you rape the blonde foreigner in her sleep for "being a prude" in order to "cement (their) love". I was willing to give the Shiina route a pass despite passing the first and second base and jumping straight to home plate, but I couldn't allow the rape.
Faggot, there is no way you are that much of a pussy. There are tons of great VNs that have rape involved in the story in some way. Grow a sack and remember it's not real.
>It was bad enough I had to sit through the game's terrible writing, macguffins, deus ex machinas, and character bias. I also didn't like the OPM-esque powers everyone seemed to have, with not much explanation, though people have told me that bit is nitpicking so I'll let it go. If you want a better 'wacky school slice of life' VN in the same vein then read Cross Channel.
I haven't yet finished Majikoi myself, but I am aware of VN's that do something similar. You aren't supposed to expect a steins;gate level plot and story-telling with this, and you aren't supposed to think too deeply about certain details. The VN is meant to give you a good time and memories, that's all.
